There's a place for everyone in Marple Mini and Juniors Rugby. We have players of all shapes and sizes, girls, boys and a good atmosphere on the sidelines for parents.

For the 2024 - 25 season, we have teams for the following age bands:

Minis

Under 5s girls/boys (school year - reception)
Under 6s girls/boys (school year 1)
Under 7s girls/boys (school year 2)
Under 8s girls/boys (school year 3)
Under 9s girls/boys (school year 4)
Under 10 girls/boys (school year 5)
Under 11s girls/boys (school year 6)

Juniors

Under 13s boys (school year 8)
Under 15s boys (school year 10)

Got a child that's interested?
You can bring your child along for a couple of weeks without charge. If they then want to join membership is £100 membership for the whole season.
Contact us to arrange a time to come down, or just turn up for training and introduce yourself to a Coach.

Don't see the right age band for your child?
There are a few options if your child is in the junior-age band but doesn't have a team:

Play up an age band - if your son is comfortable playing do so. Quite a few players do this.
Play down an age band - if your son smaller than average this might be possible.
Join another club - Sadly this is the only option for girls age 12+ as we haven't been able to get enough girls together for a team as yet. Several Marple girls have gone over to Glossop RFU to play there.

Getting serious
We are part of the Sale Sharks Academy Pathway which takes players from the U15 age band upwards. We nominate players for a trial, which can lead to players playing professionally for Sale Sharks. Currently, we have 4 players that are part of this programme.
